The gallery is located in vaulted cellars built in the 18th century, originally used to store coal and meat.
Like all the vaults on Köpmangatan, stones from the old Eskilstunahus Castle (which was destroyed in a fire in 1680) were used in its construction.
In this way, the history of the space reaches back to the 16th century, giving the gallery a unique atmosphere that visitors often sense and appreciate.
